Postcard Series
Embracing the theme of ‘wish you were here’, this is a series of paintings all done on board that is the same size as a traditional postcard. With technology and social media holiday updates in real time, the traditional postcard is slowly dying. Jenny recaptures the moment in time, when you are in a far-away place and thinking of those that you love and wishing you could share that moment with them. She navigates the viewer to a time and place they have forgotten existed. The postcard is a token of that moment – a moment that captures past connections, a joyfulness from the present, and a gift in the future.
Jenny’s signature sense of calm, of place and memory is imbued in each piece, and each individual painting embodies her energy at the time of painting. When the painting passes from Jenny to its new owner, this energy becomes theirs.
Each painting is an original work and allows the viewer to create their own narrative of the piece. The Postcard paintings provide stories without words, and a place of escape that belongs only to the viewer.
